Mr. Jeroen Carl Maria Nijland

Director of Investor Relations

Jeroen leads the Investor Relations and Stakeholder Management department at the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar). Jeroen has longstanding experience in developing, executing, and managing international public sector policies aimed at the business sector. 

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, Jeroen was heading the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, an Agency dedicated to attracting foreign investors to the Netherlands. In addition, he was responsible for coordinating the Invest in Holland network, comprising of all the relevant investment promotion platforms of the country and acted as the first Chair of the network of Investment Promotion Agencies of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

Jeroen received his Master’s degrees in Political Science and Economics and in Public Administration from the Radboud University in the Netherlands, both summa cum laude.

Mr. Fahad Ali Al-Kuwari

Senior Manager Investor Relations

Fahad is responsible for market entry strategies and stakeholder engagement that support Qatar’s multi-sectoral value proposition and promote investments into Qatar.

Before joining Invest Qatar, Fahad worked as an economist with Qatar Petroleum, and Head of Energy Policy at the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Qatar. His experience includes representing the State's energy sector on high-level missions and negotiating on behalf of the government on climate change issues, among others.

Fahad, who continues to represent the State at bilateral and multilateral events, was the youngest elected co-chair of the Economic Commissions Board of the OPEC (128th Session – Nov, 2017) in the organisation’s history.

He holds a master's degree from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and is fluent in Arabic, English, German and French.

Mr. Sunny Hindwani

Head of Europe

 Sunny possesses extensive experience in working globally with Investment Promotion Agencies as well as with respected consulting firms in the field of foreign direct investment. He has assisted multinational companies with their global location strategy & business expansion efforts as well as medium sized companies and technology-oriented emerging startups. He has been involved with complex international location selection processes and decision-making for new manufacturing plants, shared service centers, innovation centers, global & regional headquarters and other types of corporate facilities.

He has also advised and worked with regions and cities on how to succeed in FDI attraction and promotion. Some of his previous work includes working on the largest FDI government contract in the United Kingdom dedicated to lead foreign companies into in the United Kingdom on behalf of the UK Department for International Trade.

He holds a Bachelors in Business & Communications from the University of Liverpool and has further specialised in International Development with the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Mr. Joe Hutchinson

Head of the Americas

Joe brings over 20 years of deep and impactful economic generation experience from a variety of leadership and management roles throughout his career.

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, Joe was Vice President, Technology Group Manager, in IDA Ireland, Ireland’s foreign direct investment (FDI) agency. His most recent role included responsibility for the attraction of new technology FDI from the East Coasts of the U.S. and Canada. It also included responsibility for a portfolio of over 50 existing clients. Joe’s career at IDA Ireland also saw him take up roles across of a range of Divisions in Ireland and overseas.

Joe’s previous experience also includes three years as Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Section in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He also played a leading role in a range of high-profile deliverables and economic set-pieces, including the Export Trade Council, Ministerial trade missions and Ireland’s Joint Economic Commissions (e.g. China, South Korea, and Russia). He has also worked for Barclaycard International.

Throughout his career, Joe has served on a wide range of external Committees/Boards/Groups, including Startup Gathering 2015, High Level Group on International Education, Startup Entrepreneur Program and Immigrant Investor Program Evaluation Committee and the Research Prioritisation Action Group. During 2020, he was appointed as IDA Ireland’s representative to the Board of CeADAR, Ireland’s Centre for Applied A.I.

Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Languages from Dublin City University and speaks English, Spanish and German. 

Mr. Mohammed Al-Mulla

Head of Asia

Mohammed is the Head of Asia, spearheading efforts to foster and facilitate foreign investment into Qatar from various Asian markets.

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, Mohammed worked for the Technical Committee for the Motivation and the Participation of the Private Sector in Economic Development of Qatar, in the Prime Minister’s Office. Before that, Mohammed served as an Architectural Engineer at the Public Works Authority – Ashghal.

Mohammed obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Architecture from Leicester School of Architecture, De Montfort University, UK and a Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the University of Portsmouth, UK and a diploma de Español (DELE) Nivel B2 from Spain.

Mr. Yanal Qatami

Senior Executive Investor Relations

Yanal is a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at Investment Promotion Agency Qatar and brings over 15 years of diversified experience in the business world across different countries and sectors to his role in supporting foreign companies to access the Qatari market. 

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, he managed several Logistics & Industrial government projects as a Business Analyst at Manateq – Economic Zones Company.

Yanal holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of Jordan in Business Economics and completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. While undertaking his MBA, Yanal worked for Charles Schwab a brokerage firm and Fortune 500 company and FONA international in Chicago over a period of 11 years in the United States. 

Ms. Maryam Al-Malki

Senior Executive Investor Relations

Maryam is a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar and is responsible for facilitating and supporting foreign companies to gain access to the Qatari market. Prior to joining Invest Qatar, she served as a Senior Account Executive at Ooredoo Qatar where she developed long-lasting and profitable business relationships with several mega projects in the country.

Maryam holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Leeds and a Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge. 

Mr. Elkhair Malik Balla

Senior Executive Investor Relations

Elkhair is a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at Invest Qatar and brings over 20 years of diversified experience in the business world within various sectors to his role in supporting foreign companies to access the Qatari market. 

 Prior to joining Invest Qatar, he worked in Silicon Valley, Wall Street and several entrepreneurial ventures. Elkhair earned a Bachelor’s degree with honours from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA (USA), with a major in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. He has a Master’s in Business Analytics from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Mr. Bruce Au

Senior Executive Investor Relations

Bruce is a Senior Executive Investor Relations. With an extensive experience in Advanced Manufacturing and Agricultural sectors, he plays a key role in building and strengthening relationships with key sectoral stakeholders in Qatar.

Prior to his role at Invest Qatar, Bruce was a Relationship Manager at Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) Tokyo, the largest innovation centre in Japan. His role involved promoting startups and fostering innovation across the Japanese market in close collaboration with local governments and overseas FDI offices. Bruce also held the position of Senior Manager at Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Tokyo (InvestHK), where he was responsible for identifying and facilitating Japanese business investment into Hong Kong.

Bruce holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Kwansei Gakuin University, specialising in Financial Accounting. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese.

Mr. Nasser Ali Al-Kaabi

Investor Relations Officer

Nasser Al Kaabi is an Investor Relations Officer at Invest Qatar. Nasser holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with a Major in International Politics from Georgetown University, Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in Qatar. 

His background is in politics, investments, and sports.  Prior to joining Invest Qatar, Nasser served as an analyst at the Real Estate division in Al Kaun Group and was the Research Project Leader at the Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP) where he conducted research on the newly established dairy company, “Baladna”, through participant observation, interviews, economic analysis, and collection of textual materials to demonstrate dairy self-sufficiency in Qatar following the blockade.  

Mr. Abdulla Ahmed Al-Emadi

Investor Relations Officer

Abdulla is an Investor Relations Officer at Invest Qatar. Before joining Invest Qatar, Abdulla was an entrepreneur and set up a luxury car sales platform to connect local buyers with dealers and manufacturers from Germany. He also set up a trading business in Kenya in 2019.

Abdulla has a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Northwestern University of Qatar. He is a keen debater and has participated in World Schools Debating Championships, besides representing his country in debating contests abroad.
