The Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) sponsored and participated in the World Forum for FDI 2022 in Edinburgh, Scotland, from May 9 to 11. The annual conference brings together political and business leaders to discuss the most important issues affecting economic development & investment attraction, while providing a unique platform to discuss investment opportunities with investors and executives from around the world.

Showcasing Qatar’s thriving business landscape, IPA Qatar’s Senior Executive Investor Relations, Maryam Hamad Al-Malki delivered a presentation, highlighting the state’s future-ready infrastructure, connectivity resources, and lucrative investment opportunities. Entitled ‘Qatar’s Value Proposition,’ the presentation underlined Qatar’s multifaceted strengths as an excellent hub for business and investments. It shed light on the country’s key economic, social and cultural indicators, including resilient and competitive economy, world-class talent pool, top-notch education, one of the best healthcare systems and a safe living environment. The presentation also provided a thorough overview on IPA Qatar’s role in facilitating foreign investment, as the gateway to access the market, connect them to relevant stakeholders and support them pursuing a unique business journey. It wrapped up by providing a snapshot of business opportunities offered by sectors including advanced manufacturing, tourism and technology.

Held annually since 2003, the forum brought together global industry leaders and experts in the field of foreign direct investment who analysed FDI trends and outlook. The forum discussed shifting priorities among investors and emerging strategies being adopted across the world to develop and attract high-quality investment. Investment in digital industries, renewables, clean technology and energy transition were the among key topics of discussion.
